PEOPLE AND REGIONS ARE AT THE HEART OF OUR ENGAGEMENTS
COUNTER CULTURE
As part of our social and environmental policy, we are committed to the well-being of our employees and are fully aware of our responsibilities. This commitment is guided by key principles that centralise the well-being of individuals and the surrounding community.
THE CORNERSTONES OF OUR POLICY
CAREER ADVANCEMENT
Developing the skills and employability of our talents for the present and the future.
WELL-BEING, HEALTH AND SAFETY
A safe, balanced environment conducive to the individual fulfilment of all.
INTEGRITY AND ETHICS ARE THE DRIVERS OF OUR OUR DAILY ACTIONS
At Wilsonart, every team member carries a personal obligation to uphold ethical standards in their interactions with customers, suppliers, colleagues and the wider community.
Our expectations extend beyond simply avoiding unethical behaviour; we encourage all employees to proactively embrace responsibilities for upholding quality, honesty and fairness, and to adhere to the laws of the respective countries they engage with.
We foster a culture of openness and transparency, through our Open Door policy; which actively encourages staff to freely voice any questions or concerns they may have.
Additionally, we conduct quarterly Works Meetings to ensure that our team stays well-informed about all company updates and information. This commitment we have to internal communications reinforces our dedication to keeping our employees engaged and knowledgeable.
HARNESSING THE POWER OF DIVERSITY TO EMPOWER ALL INDIVIDUALS
As a united team at Wilsonart, our commitment is clear - to empower our staff to excel in their roles, irrespective of ability, age, cultural background, ethnicity, faith, gender, gender expression, gender identity, ideology, income, national origin, race, or sexual orientation.
Our aim is to provide every individual with the opportunity to realise their full potential with dignity.
With a view to inspire and cultivate success among our staff by fostering an inclusive and equitable company culture.
Our management team have engaged in training sessions aimed at heightening awareness of both conscious and unconscious biases within the workplace, with a particular focus on the recruitment process.
By championing diversity and inclusivity, we strive to create an environment where every team member feels valued and has the support to thrive.
DEVELOPING THE SKILLS AND EMPLOYABILITY OF OUR PEOPLE FOR THE PRESENT AND THE FUTURE
At Wilsonart, we acknowledge the common challenge faced by businesses in attracting and retaining top talent. Recognising that our people are our greatest asset, we are committed to fostering:
Empowerment: We encourage our employees to take initiative and deliver their best.
Competitive Compensation and Benefits: We ensure our employees are fairly compensated based on market standards and role expectations. Additionally, we provide benefits tailored to meet their needs.
Positive Work Environment: We cultivate a positive workplace that prioritises employee well-being, fosters teamwork and values open communication.
Professional Development: We invest in the professional growth of our employees, providing them with opportunities to enhance their skills and ensuring they have the necessary resources and support to excel in their roles.
Recognition and Rewards: We actively acknowledge and reward exceptional performance, offering constructive feedback to aid improvement.
Effective Communication: We have established a robust communication system to keep employees well-informed about company news, goals and performance. This includes regular works meetings, staff notices and email updates.
CREATING A SAFE AND EQUITABLE ENVIRONMENT THAT FOSTERS THE FULFILMENT OF EACH INDIVIDUAL
As an employer, Wilsonart prioritises the safety and well-being of our workforce and others within our operations. This commitment is upheld through rigorous risk assessments, regular Health and Safety meetings and a continuous improvement approach.
The cornerstone of our occupational health and safety practices is the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, the primary legislation in Great Britain. This legislation provides clear guidelines for both employees and members of the public visiting our sites.
Wilsonart adopts a proactive stance to establish and sustain a healthy work-life balance for our staff. We offer comprehensive support through various means, including utilising Occupational Health experts, access to employee assistance programs, medical assessments and giving the flexibility of hybrid working arrangements - allowing employees to work from home for up to 2 to 3 days a week.
To enhance managerial capabilities, annual IOSH training is provided, covering areas such as managing and working safely, as well as first aid training for designated personnel, including fire marshals.
MAKING A POSITIVE IMPACT WITHIN OUR
LOCAL COMMUNITY
At Wilsonart we strive to make a positive impact, not just for our employees and customers, but for our industry colleagues and local community as well.
We partner with strategic companies driving industry change, such as Made in Britain and the British Institute of Kitchen, Bedroom and Bathroom Installers, who advocate for better support for our industry.
On a local level we have engaged in various local community projects, most recently including:
House of Book and Friends: Donation of material FOC to a Community Project in Manchester focused on combatting loneliness in the local community.
Perth FC: Following a flood, we supported a football club local to our Scottish factory getting them back on their feet with wall panels for their toilets and training room, allowing them to open back up to the wider community
